Public Transit from around the world

Lines of Connection: Discovering the World’s Metro Systems

Whenever I visit a city, I find immense joy in exploring the local metro system. There’s something fascinating about how the transit architecture, ranging from sleek modern designs to historic Beaux-Arts stations, reflect the city’s character. As I ride the trains and take the busses, I observe the diverse tapestry of people going about their everyday lives—commuters engrossed in their routines, families sharing laughter, and travelers like me navigating new landscapes.

Public transit systems capture the very soul of a city, and serve not only as a means of transportation but also as a vibrant space where lives intersect. They form the backbone that breathe life into the urban fabric, connecting neighborhoods to each other and facilitating the rhythm of daily existence. I love how each ride becomes a journey into the heart of a metro area, and reveals glimpses into the stories that make urban life so rich and dynamic.
